The Occupational Nurse must assist the Occupational Physician and other health professionals in the organization, in accordance with the profession’s own competencies, namely:

  • Providing nursing care, such as applying preventive measures through health monitoring and vital signs screening, curative measures such as administering injections and other treatments, responding to injury/emergency situations, etc;
  • Schedule and carry out treatments and administer medication prescribed by the doctor;
  • Taking on a relevant role in training and informing workers about health and well-being, participating in the development of health promotion programs in the company;
  • Raising awareness of occupational risks and safety in the Organization, with a view to social and professional integration (physical and mental integrity of the worker, personal health, health at work and health education);
  • Collaborate with other professionals to identify occupational risks and monitor intervention plans to reduce exposure or limit occupational damage;
  • To be an active element in the innovation and development of appropriate occupational health care with a view to health gains.
